D. L. Brown has served in higher education for 25 years. He serviced many generations of students in pursuit of ascertaining their degrees in their chosen profession. Brown served as an advisor, mentor, and confidant to many. His understanding of the pursuit of a desired life made him sought after. His experience stretches into being a voice for students, staff, and friends who would remain silent because of lack. He knows oh too well the importance of understanding self. His drive to ensure that no one’s identity is overlooked, he advocates for the students and anyone in need.

P. J. Butts entered into the education field 17 year ago. She entered education as a primary classroom teacher. Seeing the need for students to have a safe space and a person to confide in, she transition to school guidance counselor. Her commitment to education stems from understanding the need for students to receive a high quality education that empowers them. Butts’ passion was one of the guiding light that was key in the formation of Push Quality Education Inc.

Danica Ward

Danica Goyens-Ward has been a teacher for twenty years. Mrs. Ward has been a part of the Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School family for the past 15 years. Mrs. Ward currently serves as a self-contained 4th grade teacher of Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School. Danica also supports teachers in monthly data collection and inquiry analysis as the school’s Data Coach. Mrs. Ward is a Peer Collaborative Teacher with a Lab Classroom that serves as a schoolwide model for research based instructional practices for student engagement. Mrs. Ward is a Mentor for teachers and students on the educational pathway. She has collaborated with Dr. Gholdy Muhammad and has become a school leader on Culturally & Historically Responsive Pedagogy. Danica has a Master’s in Education along with certification for grades 1-6 including students with disabilities. In addition, Goyens-Ward also has a Master’s in School Building Leadership and has begun her doctoral journey with a focus on innovation in curriculum and instruction.
